It's been reported that talent and actor Kishibe Shiro had died on August 28 from acute heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy. He was 71 years old. His funeral has already been held with family only.
Kishibe's agency made the announcement on September 15 stating, "Our agency's Kishibe Shiro passed away on August 28 at 4:33 am from acute heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy." They added, "In Heisei 15 (2003), he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, and after that, he worked hard to make a comeback while continuing his battle against Parkinson's Disease and tunnel vision."
Then they expressed, "To fans and persons concerned who have been supporting him since his time in The Tigers, and to everyone who was involved with his treatment and rehabilitation, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
Kishibe joined The Tigers after Kahashi Katsumi left the group in 1969. His standout works include 'Imasara Shiro' (book), 'Ushiromuki' (book), movie 'Kigeki, Yasashiku Damashite' (1972), and TV drama 'Saiyuki' (1978).
Our condolences go out to his loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
