It's been reported that actor Ito Kentaro (23) has been arrested for an alleged hit-and-run accident.

According to reports, Ito's car crashed into a motorcycle while driving in Shibuya Ward on the evening of October 28. Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were transported to the nearest hospital. The woman suffered serious injuries including a broken leg, while the man had a bruised arm.

Investigation so far reveals that a witness followed Ito several hundred meters after he had left the scene, then prompted him to return. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Ito admitted to the allegation saying, "At the time, I had lost my head. I was panicking." 

Ito's agency Image Entertainment released an official statement explaining, "As it was reported today, our company's Ito Kentaro was involved in an accident while driving a vehicle yesterday evening where due to his carelessness, he crashed into a motorcycle injuring the driver and passenger. He was arrested on suspicion of negligent driving and violating the Road Traffic Act."

They continued, "First of all, we would like to apologize to the two persons from the bottom of our hearts, and pray that their injuries will heal as soon as possible. We intend on dealing with all damages related to the accident including the injuries in all sincerity. Furthermore, we would like to apologize to fans and persons concerned for causing great trouble due to his arrest."
