Acting troupe D-BOYS member Yanagishita Tomo (32) has announced that he has left his agency and retired from showbiz. He also announced his marriage to a non-celebrity woman.
On his blog, Yanagishita wrote, "Thank you always for your support. Today, I have some important news. I would like to announce that as of today, September 30, I have left Watanabe Entertainment and retired from showbiz."
He continued to express, "I made my debut in September of 2006 after the third D-BOYS audition. From that day until today, a whole 14 years has passed. Thank you for the support, cheering, encouragement, courage, hope, and experience for the past 14 years. Thank you very much."
On his future, he said, "I want to do my best in somewhere other than showbiz." Furthermore, he explained his reason for retiring as "I felt I was at my limit," "I want to challenge myself to other things," and "I want to start a family."
Finally, he stated, "I would also like to take this opportunity to make one more announcement. At this time, I, Yanagishita Tomo, have registered my marriage with a non-celebrity woman. From now on, I hope to build a warm family and do my best with my partner. Thank you for supporting Yanagishita Tomo for the past 14 years."
