The title of Fukuyama Masaharu's new album (December 8 release) has been confirmed to be "AKIRA."
"AKIRA" is the name of Fukuyama's father who passed away when he was just 17 years old. As he nears the age his father was when he passed, Fukuyama felt that he could go one step further as a performer by portraying his own views of life and death. This helped him to come up with the title song, and it became the overall theme of the album. He commented, "It took me 30 years to start writing about separating from my father. However, this is not complete. It's a 'song of beginning' that will help me to further express my views on life and death."
Fukuyama will also hold his first online live 'FUKUYAMA MASAHARU 30th Anniv. ALBUM LIVE' on December 27. He will be performing all songs from "AKIRA" during this live.
