On October 1, actress Iwasa Mayuko (33) updated her Instagram account announcing her retirement from showbiz.
Iwasa explained, "Right now, the world and our surrounding environment are changing immensely. As I had more time to confront myself, I thought about my future and decided to retire during this time as I wanted to challenge myself to new things." She revealed her future plans saying, "Even though I don't have much power, I want to become useful to society and other people, so I want to get involved in nursing care."
Finally, she wrote, "I am still very inexperienced, so I want to devote myself to this new path. To my fans who have supported me until now as well as to persons concerned and staff, thank you very much for the past 17 years."
Iwasa entered showbiz as a gravia idol in 2003 after being selected as 'Miss Magazine 2003.' She then made her acting debut in 2004 with the drama 'Deep Love ~Ayu no Monogatari~.' Since then, she changed careers from gravia to acting, and he's starred in various dramas, movies, CMs, and stage plays.
