Kanno Miho has been cast in NTV's upcoming drama 'Uchi no Musume wa, Kareshi ga Dekinai' to begin in January. 

An original screenplay by Kitagawa Eriko, the drama will revolve around a romance novelist and single mother named Minase Aoi. She is worried about her otaku daughter who doesn't have a boyfriend. However, a certain event triggers her daughter to decide to fall in love. It will be directed by Nagumo Seiichi and Uchida Hidemi. The last time Kanno played a lead role in a drama was back in 2016.

Kitagawa, who has always wanted to write a story about a mother and daughter relationship, commented, "I plan to escape the concept of existing dramas. This drama is an avant-garde. Will it make it or break it? It's a great adventure!" 

Meanwhile, Kanno stated, "What I love about Kitagawa Eriko-san's works is how the lines go back and forth between reality and dream."
