On October 13, it was announced that Ota Haruka has ended her activities in ANGERME. 

Ota joined the group in November of 2018 during their one-man live 'ANGERME 2018 Fall: Denko Sekka' at Pacifico Yokohama. While active in the group, she went on hiatus in March after violating a rule and admitting to it. According to the announcement, while her activities in ANGERME has come to an end, she will remain in Hello! Project. They explained, "After going on hiatus, Ota Haruka spent her days reflecting upon herself. During that time, we were able to confirm her intentions of continuing her activities. As such, she will be taking lessons and making efforts to start anew in Hello! Project."

Oita also commented, "I have made the decision to leave ANGERME and work hard from the starting point. I am very sorry to betray everyone who have supported me since I was a Kenshusei, as well as everyone who supports ANGERME and Hello! Project. I would also like to apologize to everyone who was awaiting my return while I was on hiatus. I will work even harder to return in front of everyone again."
