Tokyo Jihen's new song "Inochi no Tobari" will be used as the theme song for TV Tokyo's upcoming drama '38-sai Batsuichi Dokushin Onna ga Matching Apuri wo Yattemita Kekka Nikki' (premieres November 18).
This will be Tokyo Jihen's first time being in charge of the theme song for a TV Tokyo drama. Actress Yamaguchi Sayaka, who plays the lead role in the drama, commented, "I literally thought that an incident [jihen] happened lol. I had secretly thought how happy I would be if Sheena senpai, who I have known since middle school, would write a song for a work in which I would play the lead role someday. That has come true now, so it really feels like a dream."
'38-sai Batsuichi Dokushin Onna ga Matching Apuri wo Yattemita Kekka Nikki' is based on a romance comedy essay by Matsumoto Chiaki that won the 'Comic Essay Award.' It tells the story of Matsumoto Chiaki (played by Yamaguchi), a single divorcee who joins a dating app to meet younger men to experience youth again.
