On October 8, Hello! Project announced that Tsubaki Factory sub-leader Ogata Risa will be going on hiatus.
Her agency announced on their official website, “Regarding Ogata Risa, she will be taking a break from her activities for the time being. The other day, we discovered a case which violated Hello! Project rules, and Ogata confirmed it herself. Ogata requested that she refrain from her activities, so taking Ogata’s as well as the other members’ feelings into consideration, we felt that she should set some time aside and decided on this hiatus.”
According to reports, Ogata’s private Instagram account was leaked. They said, “She was utilizing SNS like a journal which would be seen by nobody, but some posts were assumptions which were written as her emotions took over. Nevertheless, everyone has moments when they need to complain. Ogata is seriously reflecting on this case. This being a lesson, we hope the hiatus will become a time for her to reflect on herself. As her agency, we will consider her feelings and support her.”
Ogata also commented, “At this time, I apologize for the worry and trouble that I’ve caused to everyone due to my immature actions. The things in question were all undoubtedly written by me. I wrote them based on my own selfish assumptions, and many parts are different from the truth. I am fully responsible for confusing everyone. As such, I will refrain from my activities for the time being, and use that time to reflect on myself to grow as a human being.”
