On December 26th, Shochiku Entertainment announced that actor Nishina Masaki (38) has contracted the novel coronavirus. 

An announcement on their official website explains, "On December 25th, he learned that he was exposed to a positive case, and took the PCR test at a hospital. Then on December 26th, his test result came back positive." On his current condition, they revealed, "While he does not have a fever, he has a headache and an impaired sense of smell. He is currently quarantining at home. Hereafter, he will deal with it appropriately under instruction of the health center." 

Shochiku Entertainment also released an apology saying, "To work-related persons and fans who always support him, we sincerely apologize for the great deal of inconvenience and worry." Finally, they stressed that they are doing their best to prevent further spread of the virus.
