It's been reported that actress Asaka Mitsuyo passed away on December 13th at 1:47 am due to pancreatic cancer. She was 92 years old. 

This was announced by her second son Kitaoka Shoji on the 14th. The announcement states, "In late October of Reiwa Year 2 (2020), Asaka Mitsuyo (Real Name: Kitaoka Shoko, 92) was hospitalized after falling ill. As a result, she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with only 3 months to live. Due to her old age, she was unable to undergo surgery or receive treatment."

He continued, "Without learning of her illness, Asaka Mitsuyo passed away peacefully and painless due to pancreatic cancer at a hospital in Tokyo on December 13, 2020 at 1:47 am." 

Asaka's wake will be held on the 16th, and her funeral on the 17th at Enshoji in Asakusa, Tokyo. The chief mourner will be her eldest son Kitaoka Kazuo. The burial will be held with family only due to COVID-19.
