On December 28th, it was announced that gravure idol Takasaki Kanami (23) has tested positive for COVID-19. 

Takasaki's agency Asia Promotion reported, "At this time, our company's Takasaki Kanami has tested positive after taking the PCR test for the novel coronavirus. She is currently awaiting instruction from the health center, and she's recuperating and monitoring her health at home." 

They continued, "We sincerely apologize for the worries and inconvenience caused to all of her fans and persons concerned." They also stated, "We will continue to take thorough measures prioritizing infection prevention among all persons belonging to our company, as well as our employees, and everyone involved."
