It's been revealed that a new anime film adaptation of Inoue Takahiko's best-selling manga series 'SLAM DUNK' is in the works! 

'SLAM DUNK' is a sports manga about a high school basketball team. Its story revolves around Sakuragi Hanamichi, who is a beginner at basketball, as he butts heads with his teammates and improves his skills while playing against powerhouse schools. It was serialized in Gekkan Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1996, and has been adapted into an anime and anime film. 

On his Twitter account, Inoue announced, "'SLAM DUNK' will become a movie!" A website and Twitter account for the upcoming movie has been launched as well.
