TV drama 'Dragon Zakura' will air on TBS' Nichiyou Gekijou time slot beginning in April.
The story of 'Dragon Zakura' revolves around a lawyer named Sakuragi Kenji who helps the students of Ryuzan High School, a school that's on the edge of bankruptcy with students with low academic aptitude, get accepted into the prestigious University of Tokyo.
Actor Abe Hiroshi, who starred in the 2005 drama, will reprise the role of Sakuragi. The sequel will be based on Mita Norifusa's manga 'Dragon Zakura 2' that's currently being serialized in 'Morning' (Kodansha). It was originally scheduled to broadcast last summer, but had been postponed.
More details on the cast will be revealed at a later date.
