It's been revealed that Nagasawa Masami has been cast in the upcoming TBS drama 'Dragon Zakura.'

The drama will be based on Mita Norifusa's manga 'Dragon Zakura 2' that's currently being serialized in 'Morning' (Kodansha). It's the sequel to 'Dragon Zakura' (serialized in 2003-2007), which was adapted into a drama in 2005, portraying a story 15 years later.

Nagasawa will play Mizuno Naomi, Sakuragi Kenji's former student. The last time the actress starred in a TBS drama was 'Boku no Imouto' 12 years ago. 

In the 2005 drama, Mizuno had to give up on taking the entrance exam for the University of Tokyo due to her mother's illness, but passed when she took it a year later. Since then, she has become a lawyer, and is admitted into the law office run by Sakuragi. Together, they take on a new generation of high school students. 

'Dragon Zakura' is scheduled to premiere in April.
