Olympic medalist Fukuhara Ai, who recently started her company 'omusubi' to promote table tennis, released a statement of apology on March 4th regarding a recent string of reports. 

On the March 4th issue of 'Josei Seven,' it was reported that Fukuhara was involved in an affair. Also, 'Shukan Bunshun' reported on the 4th that Fukuhara is considering divorcing her husband due to psychological harassment. 

On omusubi's official website, it states, "We sincerely apologize for the trouble and worry caused to Fukuhara's supporters and persons concerned due to the recent reports by weekly magazines." 

Fukuhara married Taiwanese table tennis player Chiang Hung-chieh in September of 2016. They welcomed a daughter in October of 2017 and a son in April of 2019.
