Kato Shigeaki's (NEWS) novel 'Alternate' has won the 42nd 'Yoshikawa Eiji Literary Prize for New Writers.'

The 'Yoshikawa Eiji Literary Prize for New Writers' is awarded to a new writer with the most promising future among writers, who released an excellent work from January 1 to December 31 of 2020. Previous winning novels include Wada Ryo's 'Murakami Kaizoku no Musume,' Tsujimura Mizuki's 'Tsunagu,' Yanagi Koji's 'Joker Game,' and Sato Takako's 'Isshun no Kaze ni Nare.' Besides 'Alternate,' Takeda Ayano's 'Aisarenakute mo Betsu ni' has also been awarded with the prize. 

This is the first time for an idol to win the 'Yoshikawa Eiji Literary Prize for New Writers' since its founding. Congratulations!
