King & Prince's Iwahashi Genki will end his activities on March 31 and leave Johnny's & Associates.
Iwahashi made his CD debut as a member of King & Prince in May of 2018, but halted his activities in November due to treatment for panic disorder. He resumed a portion of his activities in February of 2019, but had not been able to make a full comeback. According to Johnny's & Associates, Iwahashi had been working hard to overcome his illness, but his symptoms would come and go with a constant repetition of ups and downs. During that time, he learned how difficult it would be to overcome the illness while enduring the pressure of being a talent. As such, he decided to end his activities in the group and leave Johnny's. The other members felt that they should see him off with positive spirits as he is their precious friend.
Iwahashi commented, "To my tiaras [fans], thank you for always loving me. I've always caused you to worry, but your thoughts have always reached me. I will take a new path, but I believe the bonds between me and the members, as well as the tiaras will stay connected forever under the big skies."
