It's been announced that YOSHIKI (X JAPAN) has received the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon.
This medal is awarded to individuals who have made generous monetary contributions to the well-being of the public. Last April, through his non-profit foundation 'Yoshiki Foundation America,' YOSHIKI donated 10 million yen to the National Center for Global Health and Medicine. In addition, he has contributed $24,000 USD to Meal on Wheels in Los Angeles and $100,000 to the 'COVID-19 Relief Fund' established by the Recording Academy and its charitable foundation MusiCares.
YOSHIKI has also sent generous donations every time a natural disaster has occurred. Last year, he donated ten million yen for reconstruction assistance for the Great East Japan Earthquake. To recognize his efforts, he was selected as 'One of Asia's 30 Heroes of Philanthropy' by 'Forbes Asia' in 2019.
YOSHIKI commented, "I feel very grateful to receive this honorary Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon. I hope to continue the relief activities. It would also make me happy if my activities would help to spread the charity circle. Thank you very much."
