Hey! Say! JUMP member Okamoto Keito will be leaving the group on April 11 to focus on his acting career.
After taking a break from Hey! Say! JUMP's activities in September of 2018, Okamoto studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and graduated in July of 2020. During his study abroad, Okamoto thought about his life and future, and his desire to act became stronger. After numerous discussions with the members and staff, it was decided that he would be an actor signed under Johnny's & Associates.
Okamoto expressed, "I only have gratitude and love for Hey! Say! JUMP. To everyone looking forward to my comeback and our activities with nine members until today, I am very sorry to surprise you with my selfish reasons. I will do my best so that everyone will support my new dream and path."
