It's been reported that actor Sano Shiro (66) has been hospitalized for renal dysfunction. As such, he has dropped out of the TBS drama 'Rikokatsu' and will be replaced by actor Hirata Mitsuru (67).  

Sano explained, "At this time, I had to be hurriedly hospitalized after renal dysfunction was discovered unexpectedly. I will no longer be able to continue playing the role of Mizoguchi Takeshi." 

He continued, "I have heard that Hirata Mitsuru-san has willingly accepted the role of the beloved Mizoguchi Takeshi. I am very thankful and happy, and would like to express my gratitude from the bottom of my heart."

Starring Kitagawa Keiko and Nagayama Eita, 'Rikokatsu' is a love story about a couple who decide to get married without dating. Sano played Mizoguchi Takeshi, the father of protagonist Saki (Kitagawa).
