It's been reported that actor Tamura Masakazu passed away on April 3. He was 77 years old.
Tamura's younger brother, actor Tamura Ryo (74), made the announcement on May 17. He wrote on his official website, "On April 3, I received the sudden news from Tamura Masakazu's wife. For a moment, I was in a daze as I was unable to comprehend the situation. When my wife talked to his wife about 3 months ago, I had heard that my brother was healthy and taking walks."
He reflected, "I believe my brother lived a happy life. I believe he kept a fulfilling lifestyle in both his work and private life. He had told his family not to have a big funeral, but to see him off quietly." Finally, he expressed, "I would like to thank everyone who was involved in my brother's life."
Born in 1943 in Kyoto Prefecture, Tamura was the third son of famous actor Bando Tsumasaburo. He made his debut in 1961 in the movie 'Eien no Hito' and gained popularity after starring in the 1972 drama 'Nemuri Kyoshiro.' His final work was the special drama 'Nemuri Kyoshiro The Final,' which broadcast in February of 2018.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family at this time.
