It's been revealed that Higa Manami will be taking over Fukada Kyoko's role in Fuji TV's upcoming drama 'Oshi no Oujisama.'
As previously reported, Fukada is taking a break from work after being diagnosed with adjustment disorder. According to Fuji TV staff, the drama production team was notified that the actress would be stepping down from her role a few days before the announcement was made to the public. Afterward, the staff made efforts into looking for another actress who understood the drama's plot and could take on the schedule. Higa met the requirements and was offered the role.
According to persons concerned, the drama will begin filming early next month, and the drama will begin its broadcast in July as originally scheduled.
Higa will take on the role Hidaka Izumi, the CEO of a start-up company that develops romance games. She will co-star alongside actor Watanabe Keisuke, who will play Igarashi Wataru, a young man with the perfect appearance but a lethargic personality. When Hidaka meets Igarashi, she becomes determined to make him into the ideal man just like her game character.
Higa commented, "I will do my best until the end in order to create a work that will illuminate everyone's daily lives." On Fukada, she said, "I pray that she recovers as soon as possible."
