Tokyo Performance Doll have announced that they will be going on an indefinite hiatus after their concert at Zepp Tokyo on September 26.
Tokyo Performance Doll debuted in 1990 producing successful talents, such as Shinohara Ryoko, Ichii Yuri, and Anai Yuko. After disbanding in 1996, they were revived in 2013 with members who were selected among 8,800 applicants. Currently, they are active as a six-member group with Takashima Nana, Jonishi Seira, Sakurai Saki, Hamasaki Kaho, Waki Akari, and Tachibana Futaba.
On their temporary hiatus, CUBE, Inc. explained that the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to hold concerts and events. As such, they decided to halt their group activities in order to increase their solo activities.
Leader Takashima commented, "After discussing it with everyone, we made the decision in order to proceed onto the next step. Even though we will be separated from the group, we will do our best without losing to ourselves."
