Guitarist and singer Yumiki Erino has announced that she will be studying abroad at a music college in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to the announcement, when Yumiki turned 30 years old last year, she started thinking more and more about her future. To be a lifelong musician, she felt that she should study music again and meet many people around the world through music. She decided on Malaysia as she was interested in the pop music that came from such a multicultural and multiethnic country.
Yumiki made the decision to study abroad about a year ago and enrolled herself into a music college in Malaysia last month. She has already entered the country and is in mandatory 14-day quarantine. Her study abroad period will be until 2024.
Yumiki started her solo project Yumiki Toy in 2019. More recently, she had been serving as a support member for artists including Hata Motohiro, Base Ball Bear, and Yoshizawa Kanako at their concerts. As she will be studying abroad, she will be taking a break from her live activities in Japan for the time being. She will be giving updates on her life in Malaysia as well as uploading performance videos onto her YouTube channel along with her Twitter and Instagram accounts.
