Actor Kameishi Seiichiro passes away at 82

It's been reported that actor Kameishi Seiichiro passed away on July 11 at 5:25 am due to a stroke. He was 82 years old.

According to his agency, Kameishi suffered a stroke on May 12 of this year. He had been undergoing rehabilitative therapy, but unfortunately, did not make it. "We would like to extend our thanks for your kindness during his lifetime," they expressed. 

Kameishi was born in Tokyo in 1938. He entered showbiz after passing the sixth Toei New Face audition, and made his debut in 1960 with the movie 'Oretachi no Mahiru.' Since then, he has starred in the 'Mito Komon,' 'Edo wo Kiru,' and 'Hissatsu' series among others. He also played the role of Rikiishi Toru in the live-action movie adaptation of 'Ashita no Joe.'
