On July 30, it was reported that comedian Jinnai Tomonori (47) has been infected with COVID-19.

Yoshimoto Kogyo announced on their official website, "At dawn on July 29, Jinnai had a fever so he took the PCR test and was diagnosed as positive. He will be recuperating under guidance of the health center." 

Other celebrities currently out with COVID-19 include Ueda Shinya (51) of comedian duo Cream Stew, actress Nagano Mei (21), actor Nakano Taiga (28), Nankai Candies' Shizu-chan (42), Johnny's Jr. group Shonen Ninja's Fukada Ryusei (19), and Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku members Kashiwagi Hinata (22), Kobayashi Kaho (21), and Nakayama Riko (20) among others.
