On July 20th, it was announced that actor Tanaka Kei was diagnosed with COVID-19.

According to an announcement on his official website, Tanaka conducted the PCR test after breaking out with a fever on the 18th. He was confirmed positive for the virus on the following day. The actor is currently recuperating under guidance of the health center. 

Tanaka's starring film 'Hinomaru Soul ~Butaiura no Eiyuutachi~' was finally released last month after it had been postponed twice due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. He is one of the main cast in Fuji TV's ongoing drama 'Night Doctor' and is also scheduled to appear in the stage play 'Moshimo Inochi ga Kaketara' next month.
