It's been announced that actor Sasaki Kuranosuke (53) has tested positive for COVID-19. As such, his starring stage play 'Kunshini Tomonashi' was cancelled on the 29th. 

An announcement on Sasaki's agency's official website states, "The show on August 29th from 1:00 pm will be cancelled after performer Sasaki Kuranosuke's PCR test result returned positive. We apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to those who were looking forward to the theater." 

The stage play, which started in Kyoto on the 17th, also stars Nakamura Aoi, Okuda Tatsuhito, Ishihara Yu, and Kochi Yamato.
