On August 3rd, AKB48 announced via their official blog that members Utada Hatsuka (19) and Sakagawa Hiyuka (14) have tested positive for COVID-19. With this, the group currently has ten members out with COVID-19.

Utada came down with a fever on July 31st, took the PCR test on August 1st, and was confirmed positive on the 2nd. Meanwhile, Sakagawa conducted the PCR test on the 3rd after showing signs of a fever. She received her positive result on the same day. 

Members who believe they were in close contact with the two are quarantining and monitoring their health at home or a hotel. Consequently, Okabe Team A's 'Mokugekisha' performances on the 4th have been canceled.
