It's been announced that former Morning Musume member and actress Tanaka Reina (31) has contracted COVID-19. Consequently, she will be resigning from her role in the musical 'Akage no Anne' ('Anne of Green Gables') that's scheduled to begin on August 16th.

According to the announcement, Tanaka came down with a fever on the night of July 29th prior to rehearsal for the musical. She conducted the PCR test on the 30th and was confirmed positive for the virus. 

Although Tanaka had been making adjustments to star in the musical as planned, she felt that because she wasn't able to spend enough time rehearsing, she wasn't prepared to deliver the performance properly. 

Tanaka has been recovering at home and will continue to do so under the guidance of the health center.
