Fortune Entertainment announced on August 13 that BOYS AND MEN member Tsuchida Takumi has withdrawn from the group.

According to his agency, Tsuchida had requested to withdraw so they accepted his wishes. "We sincerely apologize to fans and all persons concerned for this sudden announcement," they commented. 

Tsuchida had been taking a break from his activities since August of 2020 due to poor health. He updated his blog, stating, "There is something that has always been troubling me. My 'desire of being in front and standing out' has not been so strong. Since realizing that, I starting thinking that I'm not suited for entertainment work." He then revealed, "That problem never left me. For a long time, I didn't realize the changes in my mind and body. When I realized it, I didn't understand myself." He explained that he thought hard about his life during his break, which led to this decision.

Tsuchida expressed, "To the president, members, and family who have supported me over the past 10 years even though I couldn't do anything. It was because of everybody that I was able to continue like this." He concluded with a message to his fans, "Something I can be proud of during my time working in entertainment is your existence. Thank you so so much for following me."
