On September 8th, Glab Entertainment announced that musician GACKT will be going on indefinite hiatus.
After returning to Japan on August 6th, GACKT contacted his agency informing them that he wasn't feeling well. Due to a nervous system disease he's had since he was a child, he was in a life-threatening situation at one point. His condition worsened for several weeks which caused him to lose about ten kilograms (22 lbs).
While his condition is now stable, GACKT has dysphonia and has been told by his doctors that it's impossible for him to continue working that involves using his voice. After consulting with his agents in both Japan and overseas, it was decided that he would go on an indefinite hiatus.
GACKT plans to return overseas to be seen by his attending physician. After a detailed examination of his chronic condition and dysphonia, he will receive treatment and work toward resuming his activities.
