September 9, 2021 marked 30 years since SMAP made their CD debut with "Can't Stop!! -LOVING-." Their debut anniversary was celebrated by Tokyo Tower as it lit up in six colors representing the six members.

A message on Tokyo Tower's official Twitter account states: "In accordance with Choyo no Sekku (September 9), Tokyo Tower will be shining in six colors - blue, red, white, pink, yellow, and green - until 24:00 today." They added the hashtag #SMAP30YEARS remembering the popular Johnny's group that disbanded in 2016.
