It's been announced that the year-end 'Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahen de!!' program 'Zettai ni Waratte wa Ikenai' series will be coming to an end. In its place, a new program tentatively titled 'Zettai Waratte Toshikoshi Shitai! Warau Oomisoka' will broadcast on December 31.
The 'Zettai ni Waratte wa Ikenai' series broadcast annually for 15 years since 2006. In the program, Downtown, Tsukitei Hosei, and Cocorico faced a variety of ridiculous situations without trying not to laugh.
NTV's producer Goda Ichiro commented, "Taking advantage of the members, we continued to request severe locations every year even after they turned 50 years old. The entire staff is really grateful. Last New Years Eve's broadcast marked 15 years of Waratte wa Ikenai. With this as a turning point, we would like to pause 'Waratte wa Ikenai.' We hope that Downtown and the other members will rest their backsides." On the upcoming program, he revealed, "Since it's a 'Waratte mo Ii Oomisoka' (a New Year's Eve you can laugh), we are planning to deliver an extravagant laughing festival where you will be laughing for 6 straight hours. We hope it will become a program where instead of your butt, your stomach will hurt from laughing too much."
