On October 27th, actresses Toda Erika and Mizukawa Asami updated their Instagram accounts hitting back at a weekly magazine for publishing an article stating that the two are on bad terms with each other.

Toda uploaded a message stating, "How many people do you have to involve to be satisfied? How many people do you have to hurt to be satisfied? How much are you going to inflate the story? What kind of pictures must you take to be satisfied? Isn't it painful to continue lying? I am worried about your heart. Please be careful not to get into a car accident while chasing me. Please leave me alone." 

She added, "This is an announcement to say that I have nothing to announce right now. I'm not sure whether or not I will have anything to announce regarding my private life from now on, but there is no truth to the things that are reported concerning me that doesn't come from me."

Mizukawa also strongly protested, "Why is it that when celebrities lie they get in trouble, but weekly magazines don't when they lie? Numerous malicious articles that are written based on speculation involving acquainted actresses and talents. Even if we say that it's groundless, it's sold forcefully, and even the articles that follow are quite intolerable. Why do we have to get hurt by words that have no credibility and are full of lies? It makes me think that it is an attack towards me, something to sabotage me."

She continued, "I am an actor. I am able to engage in this business because I am able to meet wonderful works, and participate in those works together with great directors, fun staff, and respected actors. That's all. So taking a small piece from my social media or my private life, and creating malicious articles, then at the end writing them off as lies, please stop. Please take those efforts and utilize them for something wonderful, loving and creative." 

While the two did not mention each other's names, it's obvious that they were targeting an article that was published by 'Shukan Josei PRIME' on the 25th. The article stated that Toda and Mizukawa were once close friends but grew distant over the past few years. Due to this, they have not been posting pictures of each other on their Instagram accounts, and Mizukawa has deleted a photo of the two that she had previously posted.
