AKB48 member Oya Shizuka has announced that she will be graduating from the group on her 30th birthday, December 28. 

This announcement was made on November 20 during a live broadcast via her YouTube channel '41ch.' Since launching her channel in April, Oya has been updating it everyday to share her diet experience. On this day, she reported to her fans that she has lost 14 kg (30.8 lbs) and reached her goal weight of 50 kg (110 lbs). 

On her graduation, Oya commented, "Using my 30th birthday as a turning point, I wanted to make my life choices on my own will." She added, "I will not waste the things I've experienced over the past 14 and a half years, and do my best to give back to many people who have supported me."
