HYDE's latest single "FINAL PIECE" will be used as the theme song for Shimazaki Haruka's starring drama 'Hare-kon.' that's set to premiere in January.
'Hare-kon.' is based on a manga by NON which was serialized in 'Young Magazine' from 2014 to 2019. It's set in a fictitious town where polygamy has been allowed to combat a declining birthrate. Shimazaki will play Maezono Koharu, a young woman who moves back to this town and meets Date Ryunosuke (Inaba Yu), who offers to pay off her family's debt if she marries him as his third wife. His other wives Yuzu and Madoka will be played by Yanagi Yurina and Asakawa Nana respectively.
"FINAL PIECE" is HYDE's first wedding song that was released as a single in November. He received this tie-up because he is a fan of the original series. "It's a manga I read many times for the first time in a few years, so I felt happy when I received the offer. I wanted to this to be a wedding song, so I think it suits the drama well," he commented.
