Mrs. GREEN APPLE bassist Takano Kiyokazu and drummer Yamanaka Ayaka have left the band on December 30.

On the fifth anniversary of their debut, July 8, 2020, Mrs. GREEN APPLE announced that they have "completed phase one" and went on hiatus. Then on July 8 of this year, they announced that they would be starting "phase two" in 2022 with some changes to the band. According to their official website, Takano and Yamanaka requested to leave the band, and after many discussions, their withdrawal was finalized.

Takano wrote, "I feel sad that I am unable to say 'goodbye' and 'thank you' directly to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us again. I'm sorry." He continued, "Right now, I am moving toward my dream, a new thing I want to do. I will do my best believing that there will come a day when I will meet everyone again in a different way.

Yamanaka similarly stated, "The members worked hard together until now, faced everything seriously, and warmly sent me off when I decided to call it quits. I feel so happy that I was able to meet such wonderful people." She added, "The time I spent in Mrs. GREEN APPLE and all of my encounters are my precious treasures."

Meanwhile, Ohmori Motoki (Vo, G), Wakai Hiroto (G), and Fujisawa Ryoka (Key) commented, "It's not Mrs. without the five members! That's what we also think. I'm sure you are surprised at the sudden announcement. Of course, we have many thoughts and conflicts, but the least we could do is to fully respect their decisions. We just want to say to Ayaka and Takano, 'thanks for the memories.'
