On December 12, it was announced that NMB48 member Shobu Marin will be resigning from the group after a serious breach of contract.
Shobu will not be getting a graduation concert, and she will no longer participate in the group's activities. On the contract breach, related parties commented, "We are unable to reveal the detailed contents."
NMB48's official blog explains, "We received a letter of resignation from Shobu Marin-san and it has been accepted. After confirming the situation with her, she admitted that there was a serious breach of contract. Taking the situation seriously, we accepted her resignation. We are very sorry for the worry and inconvenience caused to all of her supporters."
Shobu also released a statement and apologized, "I am very sorry for the inconvenience and unpleasant feelings caused to all of my supporters due to my selfish and immature actions."
She continued to express, "NMB48 is a wonderful group where members gather to chase after their dreams. However, my actions involved the other members leaving people with lingering suspicions about NMB48. I am very sorry. I have decided to resign from NMB48. It's very painful to think about all of my fans who supported me. I apologize for this sudden announcement. Again, I am sorry for the great deal of inconvenience I have caused. Thank you very much."
Hailing from Hokkaido, Shobu entered NMB48 as a sixth generation member in 2018. She became an official member in January of 2020.
