Perfume's new song "Flow" has been picked up as the theme song for TBS's drama 'Fight Song', which premieres on January 11.
'Fight Song' is a human love comedy that focuses on a girl named Kisara Hanae, who had to give up on her dream of becoming a member of the national karate team due to an accident. Hanae will be played by Kiyohara Kaya, Ashida Haruki, a musician who gets involved in a love triangle with Hanae, by Mamiya Shotaro, and Natsukawa Shingo, Hanae's childhood friend, by Kikuchi Fuma (Sexy Zone). It will also star Higashi Keisuke, Fujiwara Sakura, Wakabayashi Jiei, Kubozuka Airu, Riko, Kuriyama Chiaki, Hashimoto Jun, Totsugi Shigeyuki, and Inamori Izumi.
It's been about 11 years since Perfume last provided a song for a drama, which was "Spice" for 'Sengyou Shufu Tantei ~Watashi wa Shadow' in 2011. "Flow" is described as a song that nestles close to the drama's characters who stay true to themselves despite adversities. The members commented, "We think 'Fight Song' is a drama that will push the backs of people, and remind them that 'songs are nice,' 'dreams are nice,' 'people who work hard are nice.' We are also really looking forward to it."
