
Isayama Hajime's popular manga 'Shingeki no Kyojin' ('Attack on Titan') will be getting a musical adaptation with music direction by KEN THE 390.
'Shingeki no Kyojin' is a dark fantasy that portrays the battle between humans and predatory Titans. It was serialized in 'Bessatsu Shonen Magazine' from 2009 to 2021 with its chapters collected in 34 standalone volumes.
While the manga has received anime and live-action film adaptations, this is the first time for it to be adapted into a musical. The upcoming musical will deliver the world of 'Shingeki no Kyojin' through an analogue method and the latest technology with a wide variety of music from multiple composers.
The musical cast has been announced at this time as well. Eren Yeager will be played by Okamiya Kurumu, Mikasa Ackerman by Takatsuki Sara, Armin Arlert by Konishi Eito, Levi by Matsuda Ryo, and Erwin Smith by Ohno Takuro. It will be staged by Ueki Gou (PaniCrew) and written by Miura Kaori.
The musical 'Shingeki no Kyojin' is scheduled to be shown next January at Orix Theater in Osaka and Nippon Seinenkan in Tokyo.
