Morning Musume.'22 leader Fukumura Mizuki has announced that she will graduate from the group as well as Hello! Project after their concert tour to be held in fall of 2023. 

Fukumura had originally put in a request to graduate back in 2020 to pursue a new path, but after many discussions, she decided to watch over the group until 2023, when Hello! Project would celebrate its 25th anniversary. She explained, "Since a few years ago, I wanted everyone to see more of my juniors' growth and shining personalities. Before I knew it, the new members, who worked hard, but were somewhat uneasy, are now shining using their individualities as their weapon. I feel very happy watching them. The dreams I want coming true as Morning Musume are endless. However, entrusting those dream to my juniors is also my dream from long ago."

Fukumura joined Hello! Pro Egg in June of 2008 and became a member of Morning Musume in January of 2011. She was appointed leader in June of 2014, making her the longest serving leader of Morning Musume.
