Junta Nakama of Johnny's WEST Talks About Changing Group Name: "We're Planning to Change It"
Junta Nakama, a member of the seven-member group Johnny's WEST, appeared on the MBS TV news program 'YonChanTV'. He addressed the issues surrounding Johnny's talent agency, saying, "We're planning to change the group's name."
In light of the sexual misconduct allegations involving the late Johnny Kitagawa, the agency is set to hold a press conference on October 2 to announce a new management structure. Nakama mentioned, "We will explain our future company operations and share the policies regarding human rights, as recommended by a special team for preventing further incidents."
Amid these developments, the fate of the name "Johnny's" in the company's name and group names has come into question. Nakama, a member of Johnny's WEST, expressed his thoughts on the show, saying, "For the sake of the victims, we're planning to change our name. We've already discussed it with the agency."
He acknowledged that there were feelings of reluctance within the group about changing the name but assured fans, "We're currently exploring names that fans will accept. It may take some time, but we're committed to moving in that direction.
