Mannequin Duo FEMM to Say Farewell: Final EP "CHERRY" Set for November 15 Release

TH STAFF

Japanese mannequin duo FEMM, consisting of RiRi and LuLa, has announced their final EP, "CHERRY," set to release on November 15, 2023. The EP features their empowering lead track "CHERRY on TOP," which serves as the theme song for the TV Asahi rap-battle series "Freestyle Nihontouitsu."

"CHERRY" holds a special place for FEMM as it includes production from MYLK and Radical Hardcore Clique, and it showcases the duo's first-ever solo songs, "Living in the Spotlight" and "Butterfly to the Moon." The lyrics for these tracks were written by RiRi and LuLa themselves.

The title "CHERRY" carries a dual meaning, representing a final gift to their fans and the unity of RiRi and LuLa. "CHERRY on TOP" exudes feminist power, reminiscent of their hit "Fxxk Boyz Get Money." "SUN" conveys hope in challenging times, and "We Flood the Night (MYLK Remix)" revisits a 2014 track in collaboration with MYLK.

RiRi's solo "Living in the Spotlight" reflects her determination to shine, even in confined spaces, while LuLa's "Butterfly to the Moon" is a heartfelt message of gratitude to FEMM's fans.

The EP is a parting gift to FEMM's devoted fans, known as Agents, who have supported the duo over the past decade.

Here's the EP tracklist:

  1. "CHERRY"
  2. "Living in the Spotlight"
  3. "Butterfly to the Moon"
