Miyadate Ryota from Snow Man is gearing up for an exciting new role as the host of his very own cooking show titled "Nihon Zenkoku Sasurai Ryori Variety Ougon no One Spoon" or "A Variety Show Exploring Cuisine Across Japan: The One Golden Spoon". This delectable journey is set to kick off on TBS on October 16th.
Now, what makes this opportunity so significant? Well, if you didn't already know, Ryota has a genuine passion for food. He's been showcasing his culinary skills on the morning variety show "Love It!" every other week. However, "The One Golden Spoon" takes things to a whole new level. Ryota, accompanied by special guests, will be embarking on culinary adventures across Japan, sampling local flavors and seasonal ingredients unique to each region. What's more, they'll be using a special "One Golden Spoon" for their gastronomic explorations.
In the inaugural episode, Miyadate Ryota joins forces with Hasegawa Shinobu, the comedian from the duo Sissonne, as they journey to Obuse, a town in Nagano Prefecture renowned for its chestnuts. Their mission? To seek out the most delicious chestnut-based dishes and whip up inventive chestnut-infused recipes to share with the locals.
Regarding his role as the solo MC, Ryota had this to say: "Taking on the MC role is a bit nerve-racking for me, especially after watching Mr. Akira Kawashima on 'Love It!' and wondering if I can measure up. However, being entrusted with hosting the late-night show on Mondays is undeniably a tremendous opportunity. It's a chance for me to learn and grow as an MC!" Here's a little teaser for you: "This show is packed with many 'firsts' for me, so I hope you'll join me on this journey of growth with each passing episode. By the way, people often say I eat elegantly, so keep an eye out for those moments when I savor dishes with the 'One Golden Spoon.' (laughs)"
