NiziU Makes History: First Japanese Group to Win South Korean Music Show with 'Heartris'

TH STAFF

NiziU, the Japanese idol group, achieved a historic milestone with their Korean debut song, "Heartris." They secured the top spot on MBC's 'Show Champion' for the week of November 8, winning the prestigious 'Champion Song' title. This victory was particularly significant as it marked their first-ever win on any South Korean music show.

The competition was fierce, with "Heartris" competing against popular tracks like BTS Jungkook's "Standing Next To You," IVE's "Baddie," Seventeen's "God of Music," and Golden Child's "Feel Me." Despite the strong contenders, NiziU's "Heartris" emerged as the victor, highlighting its widespread appeal.

What makes this accomplishment even more remarkable is that NiziU became the first Japanese group to win on a South Korean music show, a momentous achievement that solidified their place in the hearts of K-pop fans.

"Heartris" carries a profound message, emphasizing the idea of finding a perfect match in love. The song's lyrics reflect the excitement and anticipation of discovering someone who seamlessly fits into one's life, much like the pieces of a puzzle game coming together in perfect harmony.

With its catchy sound and a music video featuring Stray Kids' FELIX, "Heartris" has generated significant attention and discussion among fans. NiziU's victory not only cements their position in the K-pop scene but also leaves a memorable and lasting imprint on the industry. This achievement is a testament to their talent and the universal appeal of their music, marking a significant step in their journey towards international recognition and success.
