Sony Interactive Entertainment is saying its goodbyes to the X (previously Twitter) integration feature on both PS5 and PS4 consoles, and this change is set to go live on November 13th.
Previously, gamers on these platforms could seamlessly enjoy viewing content on X's website, linking their X accounts, and sharing a plethora of game-related activities and trophies. However, with the looming date of November 13th, these cherished features will take their final bow, meaning that direct sharing of those epic game screenshots and videos with the X community will be off the table.
But fret not, for there's a solution. Gamers who delight in flaunting their in-game achievements will need to cozy up to the PlayStation App, tailored for mobile devices. This transition appears to be influenced by X's recent move to commence charging for their API. They're now charging developers a minimum of $42,000 per month to access their API, which is the vital tool that empowers third-party apps to swiftly fetch and post data to this social media platform.
As this transition unfolds, PS5 and PS4 gamers will have to adapt their sharing strategies for their gaming escapades with the X community. It's a new era for PlayStation and X integration.
