On New Year's Day, former SKE48 member Matsui Rena and singer-songwriter Kondo Akihisa took to their respective X (formerly Twitter) accounts to announce their marriage.

Matsui wrote, "I apologize that this is a personal matter, but I would like to announce that I have registered my marriage with Kondo Akihisa-san, whom I have been dating for some time."

She continued, "I am truly grateful for everyone for always supporting me and cheering me on. I am still immature, but I kindly ask for your continued guidance and support. I pray for everyone's health and happiness."

Similarly, Kondo announced, "I apologize that this is a personal matter, but at this time, I would like to announce that I have registered my marriage with Matsui Rena-san, whom I have been dating for some time."

He added, "While laughing and thinking together, I hope to create a quiet place where we can both be at ease."
