Taka, the 36-year-old lead vocalist of the rock band ONE OK ROCK, revealed on Instagram that he has been struggling with panic disorder for several years.

In a recent Instagram Live session titled "Kingdom Theme Song, Panic Disorder, and the Tokyo Governor Election," Taka discussed the theme song for the upcoming movie Kingdom: The Return of the Great General, which is set to be released on July 12.

From his home in Los Angeles, Taka shared, “I wanted to let you all know because I think it’s important not to cause any misunderstandings or appear rude. I've actually been dealing with panic disorder for quite a few years now.”

He described his symptoms, saying, “My heart starts racing, I get sweaty, and I feel anxious to the point where I can’t stay in one place.” He mentioned that these symptoms affected his return home in mid-June, causing delays in his travel plans.

Taka also recounted an incident after a concert in Osaka where he experienced severe symptoms just before boarding a train. “I had to wait on the platform for about two hours with my manager until the symptoms subsided,” he explained. He apologized for any perceived rudeness during this time, acknowledging the fans who tried to approach him. “I felt a lot of guilt because they had come to see the live show and were very polite when they spoke to me.”

Taka emphasized that he isn’t looking for sympathy but rather understanding. “I’ve been learning about this disorder on my own. I don’t want people to worry about me; I just want them to understand. There are probably many people dealing with similar symptoms, so please, just take it lightly. That alone will help me a lot."

By sharing his personal struggles, Taka hopes to raise awareness about panic disorder and encourage others facing similar challenges to seek understanding and support.
